Approved for use within the UK in 2022, TruCheck is allowing people to go beyond what’s currently possible with cancer screening. With a single blood test, TruCheck can detect signals from 70 types of cancer.

The TruCheck test underwent rigorous evaluation in clinical studies involving more than 40,000 participants. Developed by Datar Cancer Genetics, its clinical laboratory boasts certification under the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments of 1988 (CLIA), as well as accreditation by the College of American Pathologists (CAP).

Screening tests serve as an early warning system, identifying potential cancers even before they present symptoms. At present, recommended screening tests are available for just five types of cancer – colorectal, lung (for those at risk), breast, cervical, and prostate. Unfortunately, many other cancers, including pancreatic and ovarian, often remain silent in the early stages, making them more likely to be diagnosed at a later stage.
The benefits of early detection cannot be overstated. When cancer is caught early, before it has a chance to spread, the five-year cancer-specific survival rate quadruples compared to late-stage diagnoses. Early detection is your first line of defense – make it count.
The TruCheck test does not detect all cancer types and not all cancer types can be detected in the blood. False negative and false positive results do occur.

The TruCheck test is suggested for use in adults with a higher risk of cancer, typically those aged 50 or above. TruCheck does not detect all types of cancers and should be considered a supplemental tool alongside routine cancer screening tests advised by your healthcare provider. The primary goal of TruCheck is to identify cancer signals and predict their origin within the body. It is not recommended for use in individuals who are pregnant, under the age of 40, or currently undergoing active cancer treatment.
Results must be analysed by a healthcare professional, taking into account the patient’s medical history, clinical signs, and symptoms. A result of “No Cancer Signal Detected” does not definitively exclude the presence of cancer. Likewise, a “Cancer Signal Detected” result necessitates further diagnostic evaluation through established medical procedures (such as imaging) to confirm the presence of cancer.
In cases where further testing does not confirm cancer, this could indicate either the absence of cancer or that the test was unable to detect it, including situations where the cancer is located in a different part of the body. Be aware that false-positive (a cancer signal detected when cancer is not present) and false-negative (a cancer signal not detected when cancer is present) results can occur.
